Recently I got to spend an entire day in Hocking Hills, from long before sunrise to well after sunset. It was a full day of light and dark, fire and water, and solitude and new friends.

With the temperatures rising, the snow melting and the spring rains, uh, springing, the waterfalls of central Ohio are roaring. I’ve been seeking out every one I can find to photograph them at their fullest. I’ve even managed to find two falls that aren’t on the maps or in the guide books.
After a recent snow melt and a few rainy days, the waterfalls of Hocking Hills were flowing strong. I ventured out on a rainy day to find a new, unnamed waterfall and see the Ash Cave waterfall.
Honey Run Falls in Knox County, Ohio was pretty slim the last time I visited. This past weekend, after a couple warm days melted all the snow and ice, it was really flowing. I got there early enough to have it to myself for over an hour. Well, except for that horse in the parking lot.
