I haven’t been able to take many Milky Way photos this summer so when we had a clear night recently my daughter and I decided to stay up late and explore a new night sky photography spot.
Not far from Old Man’s Cave in Hocking Hills, Ohio is another, less well known, deep gorge called Red Rock Hollow. After reading about it a couple years ago, I’ve been eager to try and find it. Recently I went with @big4ord and @jbigford to check it out. We had a flawless late-Spring morning to explore this fantastic part of Hocking Hills. If you enjoy nature but don’t like throngs of people enjoying it with you, a visit to one of Ohio’s spectacular nature preserves may be an adventure you’ll enjoy. No trails, no handrails, and no bridges means it’s not for everyone, but the extra effort required to explore these unspoiled spaces can be well rewarded – especially for a landscape photographer who loves waterfalls.
There are two large, well known waterfalls in Columbus, Indian Run Falls and Hayden Falls. Also on that side of town is a third relatively unknown large falls – Dublin Road Falls.
